The tour was announced with a video shared by McElhenney on social media. Co-owner Reynolds featured in the clip too, with the Canadian taking the opportunity to aim a playful dig at his close friend.

McElhenney said: "You now have a chance to witness history being made. The Wrexham AFC Women are playing right here in the U.S. for the very first time."

After a perfect league record in 2022-23 (12 wins from 12 games) secured promotion, Wrexham finished a respectable third in the Adran Premier, the highest level of women's football in Wales, in the recently concluded 2023-24 campaign. It was their first season of top-flight action since withdrawing from the league during 2015-16. Reynold's and McElhenney have previously made clear that their stewardship of the club doesn't just extend to the men's team.
