Tottenham will be far from happy with their performance against Chelsea.
The north London club were not only beaten 2-1, but they played quite poorly against Frank Lampard’s side.
Spurs offered very little going forward, having just five shots all game, and it was quite frustrating to watch.
Understandably, the blame fell on Jose Mourinho, and one journalist chastised the manager for his negativity.
What’s been said then?
As you can imagine, fans were far from happy with what they’d just watched, and one went on a bit of an impassioned rant in The Athletic’s post-match Q&A session hosted by Charlie Eccleshare.

“I understand what Mourinho is trying to do…but at some point you have to realize what you actually have in this team and change something. Why does it take 80 minutes and a 2 goal deficit to have any sense of urgency in these matches? Charlie? Anyone?” The fan commented.
“I agree with you! The passivity was baffling. 2-0 down with 20 left and still the wing-backs wouldn’t go beyond the halfway line,” Eccleshare replied.
Another fan said something similar, and the reporter once again shared the same sentiment.
“Lack of urgency when 2-0 down was pretty alarming,” the journalist replied.
Ridiculous
The fans and the journalist are absolutely right in their views.
You can understand Mourinho going to Stamford Bridge and lining up defensively, but when his team went 1-0 down after 15 minutes something should have changed.
If you were to clutch at straws, you could kind of justify playing negatively when 1-0 down, as there’s always the chance of nicking a goal, but at 2-0 you should be going all out to try and get back into the game.
Spurs did get a goal late on, but in the end, it was too little too late, and perhaps if they’d have pushed forward a little earlier they’d have got something from this game.
In other news, Spurs fans have been slamming one man.
